The Export Market Development (EMDG) Grants exist to help Australian businesses to grow their exports in the international markets and encourage promotion of both goods and services on a global scale.

Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) Explained
Eligibility
Eligiblity requirements for the EMDG include that your turnover for the financial year before the financial year in which you make your application must be less than $20 million, you must be an Australian person as per the EMDG guidelines and you must have an ABN.
EMDG grant funds must be used for the following activities:
– promotional activities which market the eligible products in a foreign country or
– training activities to develop skills in marketing for the above purpose.
All product(s) must also be substantially Australian in origin and be either goods, services, events, intellectual property or software.
How to apply
It is only possible to apply for EMDG when each round is open, and you can only apply for it once so it is important to ensure that your application is completed at the right time, and properly. Contact us and we will help you.
*There are no grant rounds currently open for applications. The EMDG information on the Austrade website applies to Rounds 1, 2 and 3. It will not apply to Round 4. Amended rules are expected to apply to Round 4 of EMDG. Austrade will communicate all changes when the program details, including guidelines, are finalised and released. Round 4 is likely to open in late 2024 or early 2025.*
